Hydrogen solutions for a
new energy ecosystem

Enabling future fuels

As the Pacific Islands and New Zealand’s hydrogen infrastructure and economy is still in development, we’re positioned to ensure that the early adopters have access to a reliable, safe and commercially viable supply.

As the industries we support transition to low-carbon operations, H2X has invested in developing generation, storage and transport solutions for hydrogen from our Taranaki, New Zealand base.

Integrated solutions

Whether it’s establishing a new process, upgrading existing assets or adding additional value to your renewable energy operations, we can work to embed hydrogen options through transitional or permanent hydrogen systems and products.

Hydrogen (H) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, flammable gaseous substance that is the simplest member of the family of chemical elements. It’s also an incredibly abundant chemical element, estimated to contribute 75% of the mass of the universe.

It can be used as an energy carrier (to store and transport energy) and can be produced by separating it from different sources such as water, fossil fuels or biomass. Once separated, the hydrogen is used as energy storage, chemical feedstock (e.g. fertiliser), or fuel.

Once the energy is stored as hydrogen, it can be released to power applications through combustion or by utilising a fuel cell. Combustion involves burning the hydrogen, similar to natural gas.
